Chalet Kandinsky Lodge is a true skiers chalet; nearly on the piste in an excellent location. Just 100m from the lift that gives access to the full Three Valleys area. Guests enjoy a very little walk to the chair lift to kick off their ski days in style. Situated in an idyllic hamlet of Les Menuires, this beautiful chalet offers great facilities in a super location. From the chalet there are breath-taking views that exposes the sheer magnificence of Val Thorens, the highest village in Europe, whilst the River Doron flows alongside the chalet. The chalet is a modern and spacious property but has a very traditional feel with plenty of exposed timber in a Savoyard style. It is fitted out to a high standard and was built for us to the same brief that we use today; create a 'home from home' in the Alps. The lovely comfortable lounge has deep sofas and a full width sundeck which is perfect for catching the afternoon sun or midnight stargazing. The open plan dining room has long oak tables around which allow guests guests to enjoy breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals together in a fantastic atmosphere. The delightful heart of the chalet is its large open-plan living and dining area, with a flatscreen TV, DVD/CD player, with high, beamed cealings, a feature fireplace, floor-to-ceiling picture windows and a balcony with astounding views over the surrounding mountains. The spacious wood-panelled and bright bedrooms have almost all ensuite bathrooms, loads of hot water and lots of hanging space. A private hot tub and private sauna on the sunny terrace offers the perfect place to relax after a hard day exploring the vast Three Vallees ski area. Chalet Kandinsky Lodge would be a top chalet in virtually any resort, but situated here near the piste and lift, it is simply a stunner! Your chalet staff lives in a separate part of your chalet.

Every morning an extensive breakfast. When you go skiing the chalet staff will clear the table and taking care of the housekeeping. After skiing there is a hearty or sweet afternoon tea and in the evening the chalet staff serving a delicious three course dinner including wine in your own chalet.

The village

Our chalet is situated in a picturesque and traditional satellite village of Les Menuires. In a completely unspoiled hamlet hidden away from the crowds of the 3 Valleys. The centre of Les Menuires is only a short chair lift away. This village is situated in a awesome location offering excellent access to the Three Valleys; including Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Méribel, La Tania and of course the renowned, glamourous resort of Courchevel. Unlike its big purpose built neighbour, this village is relatively untouched by commercialism. The bar-restaurant nearby the chalet is a fine place for a drink. Furthermore, our chalet is situated just a short taxi ride from the Alps' only Michelin starred restaurant, which we can book you into on your chalet host's night off if you wish.

The ski area

There is a lift to take skiers straight up to the centre of Les Menuires providing a direct link to the largest and most varied linked ski area in the world with 600km of pistes. Whether you are looking for easy, less challenging runs or off piste excitement, the Three Valleys gives you the thrill with breathtaking views across the mountains, wooded slopes, long schusses or mogul fields for the more adventurous. In the words of the Where to Ski and Snowboard Guide, "...the Three Valleys cannot be beaten for sheer quantity of lift-served terrain". The area has a deserved reputation as one of the world's foremost linked ski areas. Intermediates will find it easy to access the blue and red runs of Les Menuires, Val Thorens and the Three Valleys and experts can keep themselves busy with the challenging blacks and off-piste the area has to offer. For snowboarders, wide pistes and extensive off-piste make Les Menuires a good base to explore the Three Valleys. Whether you are an absolute beginner looking to develop your skills on wide gentle runs or an expert keen to explore the steep and deep off piste of La Masse, you couldn't be better placed. You can cover huge mileages taking in numerous resorts while rarely skiing on the same slope more than once. Skiing in an area dominated by modern resorts doesn't mean you have to compromise on atmosphere. Alternatively take a long blue run down into the picturesque village of St. Martin de Belleville and enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Savoie farming town.
